Hello! Nĭ hăo! 你好!

My name is Yujia Zhao (赵羽佳), founder of Shiny Lantern and author of Little Sen's Chinese Holidays. I am also the Chinese half of a Chinese-American multicultural and bilingual family living in Southern California.

Little Sen's Chinese Holidays is the first of many planned Shiny Lantern books that will help my son (and his dad) learn Chinese culture, the Chinese language and build connections between his Chinese and American backgrounds.

I hope that your family will enjoy them, too.

 

The Shiny Lantern Mission 

One of the greatest gifts in life is the ability to speak more than one language. Early in life, children have great potential to learn multiple languages and it is imperative that they have bilingual books to encourage the process.

Shiny Lantern exists to publish high quality bilingual children's books for all curious little minds who wish to learn and explore other cultures of the world. Our books are written in Chinese and English, and include stories that introduce Chinese cultural topics in a way that is relatable, educational, and fun.
